Lucas Radebe (natural December 4 1969) is a previous South African soccer player and national team captain.

Radebe was innate in the Diepkloof section of Soweto, near Johannesburg, as one of eleven babies. Whilst he was 15 years old he was sent to the "bantustan" of Bophuthatswana by his parents in order to keep him out of a violence that was affecting Soweto in a period of the apartheid era. Sequentially to keep himself occupy around the period of his stay in Bophuthatswana, Radebe played association football (as a goalkeeper).
